How to check TAN Application Status?
The status of TAN Application can be checked on the basis of acknowledgement number received on email when the application was made. On entering the 14 digit Acknowledgement Number, you can fetch the following details: Tax Account Number (TAN), name of entity, category of entity and the exact status of the TAN allotment letter.
What are the ways to track TAN Application status?
You can track your TAN Applications by:
1. Enter acknowledgment number in the check TAN application status tool
2. Use the track status facility of TIN NSDL,
3. Calling the TIN-FC Call Center,
4. Send an SMS to the TIN NSDL number.
In how many days will I receive my TAN number?
TAN application can be made online or physically by submitting required documents. Once the application is submitted, a 14 digit acknowledgement number is received through which application status can be tracked. The TAN number is allotted within 5-10 days from the date of the application.
Can I track TAN Application Status without Acknowledgement Number?
No. You must have Acknowledgement number to track your TAN application status. You will receive Acknowledgement on your email address which was provided in application. So always remember to provide valid email address.
